Care & Durability FAQ
Can I shower while wearing it?
The bracelet is water resistant and can handle light splashing and brief showers. For best results, rinse off any soap or shampoo residue and pat dry afterwards.
Can I swim in it?
Short dips are generally fine, but prolonged exposure to pool water (chlorine) or saltwater can wear down the thick gold plating over time. We recommend removing it before swimming laps or spending extended time in the sea or pool.
Can I sleep in it?
Yes the box clasp and safety locks are designed to stay secure during everyday movement, including sleep. Just be mindful that friction against bedding can gradually dull any plated finish.
Can I apply perfume while wearing it?
Spray perfume before putting the bracelet on, not after. Alcohol and fragrance chemicals can affect gold plating over time. Let your perfume dry completely before wearing.
Are there any chemicals I should avoid?
Remove the bracelet before using cleaning products, hand sanitiser, bleach, or any harsh chemicals. These can strip gold plating and dull the cubic zirconia stones.
How should I store it?
Store it separately from other jewellery to prevent scratching — the cubic zirconia stones can scratch softer metals and vice versa. A soft pouch or a lined jewellery box works well.
How do I care for the clasp?
Give the box clasp and safety locks a gentle wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove any build-up. Avoid submerging the clasp in cleaning solutions. If it feels stiff or loose, visit our Care and Repair page for guidance.

Spring-loaded clasp attached to the charm. Clip onto our Paperclip Chain, thread onto our Curb Chain, or wear on any standard chain. - Glide & Stack Charms
Silicone-lined ball attached to the charm. Designed exclusively to fit our Slider Necklace Chain or Bracelet — they won’t fit any other chain. Slide them on, stack them up, and they’ll lock into place. - Charms for Hoops
Designed for hoop earrings. Sold individually.
Mixing charm types? Not recommended, each is designed for its specific chain or style.

Our Gold Plating Guarantee
Every ORA gold-plated piece purchased from March 2025 comes with our 90-Day Shine Promise — if your jewellery fades or tarnishes within 90 days, we’ll re-plate it for free. We use a thick 14ct micron gold plating for a long-lasting, waterproof shine that’s made to stay beautiful.
Refresh Service
Natural fading can happen over time. We offer a Gold Plating Refresh Service at a discounted rate (around 15% of the replacement value). Shipping fees apply — just email hello@orajewellery.com to arrange it.
Metals We Use
— Solid 925 Sterling Silver, chosen for its durability and timeless shine.
— 9ct gold as standard; 14ct and 18ct available on request.
— Fine Italian Brass, polished to a bright finish. Over time, a natural patina may develop — easily restore its glow with a soft cloth and brass cleaner.

Exclusions
Your plating warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage, scratches, breakage, improper care, or lost items.
Warranty & Returns
24-Month Craftsmanship Warranty
We stand by our craft. All ORA pieces purchased directly from our online store from March 2025 onward come with a 24-month warranty covering manufacturing defects — including structural issues with the metalwork.

✗ Normal wear and tear (including fading or tarnishing of gold plating)
✗ Accidental damage, breakage, or misuse
✗ Scratches, bending, or impact damage

If you believe your piece has a manufacturing defect, email hello@orajewellery.com with your order number and clear photos. Our team will assess and offer a repair, replacement, or store credit where possible. For claims made after 30 days, our quality team will confirm next steps.
Returns
We want you to love your ORA piece.
If it’s not quite right, you’re welcome to return it within 30 days of delivery for an exchange or store credit.
Items must be unworn, undamaged, and returned in their original packaging with proof of purchase.
Return courier costs are the responsibility of the customer. We can arrange collection via our trusted courier at R100 one way, or R200 for collection and re-delivery.
Free Gifts
Free gifts are non-returnable. If the free gift you selected is unavailable at the time your order is packed, we'll substitute it with an alternate item of equal value.
Final Sale Items
Earrings (for hygiene reasons), engraved, personalised or customised pieces, discounted or sale items, and gift vouchers are final sale unless faulty.
Shipping
We offer free shipping on all orders over R1650. Orders under R1650 are charged a flat rate of R99.
All ORA jewellery is handmade to order in Cape Town. Most orders ship within 5–10 business days. During busy periods, production times may be extended.

Can I mix Clip Charms with Slide & Stack Charms?
No — they’re designed with different functions and won’t work together on the same chain or bracelet.
How do I know which charm I have?
